Sprint workout:warm up mile. 15 min fartlek (20 sec pickups w/ 1 min recovery) cool down mile.

I was nervous for this run because I ate garbage today & been feeling sick for a while but this workout was baller. It was actually pretty fun. I think I should’ve gone faster but it’s chill. 

Ps. New year, New me. So I’m back & I’m gonna try to blog every day bc I want to remember this season since it’s my last :,) also I have no idea what events I’m doing or what I should do but I think it’s fine.

1 mile wu: 15 min fartlek (20sec sprint: 1:30min jog) 1 mile cool.

I really like this workout and it was very nice of addi to let me borrow her watch bc I accidentally left mine charging at home but then I accidentally stole addi’s watch:( I felt good throughout the pickups but then on the last couple I started to feel a little pain on my lower right shin not too bad though. Family time was 9/10. I was gonna do some hurdle practice and I told jake I could jump over the hurdle on the highest setting so I showed him and it was beautiful & then went for a second try and my tail leg clipped and I ate it. First fall of my whole entire running career, xc included. Watta bust.

Easy 3.5

None of the sprinters wanted to do the mid distance run so they all did plyos and weights an I got to run with the long distance crew & my good buddy Caroline. Stretched real good. I need new shoes but idk which ones to get for the type of running I’m doing, I’ve also realized I’m not a huge fan of Nike Pegasus so I gotta stop buying them just cuz they’re cute.

Mile warmup. 10 min tempo. Cool down 

Once again, none of the sprinters wanted to do the mid distance workout because they just want to “bulk up” and do sprint stuff without building a good endurance base first but it’s chill. I actually really enjoy running alone and just pacing myself. Cooled with Dylan and had a very nice conversation like the good old days. I’m the only senior female that does mid distance & I’m not that good so we definitely need to recruit.

4 mile run w/ 8x80’s 

longest run I’ve done in a while which is very embarrassing considering the long distance boys ran 14.sumthin on Monday lol. I struggled a bit but me and Jake took things a little slower while macen and parker were way ahead. 80’s were hard, I’m actually sore because I never really do such short sprints & they really make me do d1 form. Coach also gave me some pointers so that was good

1 mile warm w/ in and outs(100 sprint:100 jog for 1600m) cool down

this was actually the short distance workout and we all did it together:) I guess these soccer chicks are serious about track which is so exciting. I ran with janz and she helped me with pace and form so it was a dope workout. The wind was killer though. 800ish cool down on the turf. Starting to feel a little worn out and achy. Really gotta roll out and a yoga sesh is long overdue so I think I’ll do that during my free periods tomorrow:)
